4-inch Peat Pots
The 4-inch pot size needed for starting Giant Pumpkin seeds are getting very hard to find. The 4-inch size allows enough volume to hold the plants a few extra days if the weather is not co-operating or you need more time to finish up the cloches. I have always punched many extra holes in the 4-in. peat pots I have used to insure good drainage and root penetration and then set the plant out, pot and all. Unless the seed starting mix is even with the top of the pot, I usually trim off the top of the pots when setting the plants out.
